SHATTUCK - Woodward's summer baseball teams took their show to Pop Reed Park for a special doubleheader on Monday.
The twinbill also served as a tuneup for both teams as they leave today for Omaha, Neb. and the College World Series Tournament.
The night belonged to the Travelers Majors Club as they swept the Traveler Connie Mack team 14-9 and 8-0.
The first game went down to the final inning as the Connie Mack lead led 8-6 going into the top of the 7th.
That's when the Majors exploded for 14 runs as the first 15 hitters all reached base and 14 of them scored.
Big blows were 3-run homers by Landon Hallam, Ryan Ainsworth and Zach Warner. Zach Friesen hit a solo homer in the inning and Aaron McCandless, who is from Shattuck, drove in a pair of runs.
Earlier in the game, Connor Ross belted a grand slam homer and Ainsworth and Hallam had solo blasts.
Lane Kinney, the third Majors pitcher, got the victory.
Logan Palmer homered and scored 3 runs for the Connie Mack team. Francisco Alvarez and Brian Lewis each had 2 RBI.
Bryce Clemens was the losing pitcher.
In the second game, Colin Hightower tossed a one-hitter and struck out 8 as the Majors won in 5 innings.
