OMAHA – Results were mixed for the Traveler baseball teams in tournaments Thursday.

In the College World Series Tournament, the Majors saw a 5-game winning streak snapped in an 8-4 loss to Troy, Ohio.

That left the Travelers 1-1 in the tournament with 2 critical games today against Sioux Falls, SD at noon and host Millard West at 2:30 p.m.

Currently, Troy and Williston, ND, the team the Travelers beat Thursday are 2-1 while Woodward, Sioux Falls and Millard West are 1-1. Dakota Ridge, Colo. is 0-2.

Only the pool round winner reaches bracket play.

Woodward’s Connie Mack team opened action in the Battle of Omaha Tournament by splitting a pair of games.

The Connie Mack squad opened with an 8-0 victory over Watertown, SD behind the pitching of Clayton Stoup. Woodward then lost 4-2 to Las Vegas, Nev. Woodward faces the Topeka Stars today at 8 a.m. Bellevue West at 3:30 p.m.
