Sharon-Mutual closed out its regular season with a 60-14 win at Tyrone on Friday.

The Trojans, 6-3, will travel probably to Grandfield for in the Class C playoffs next Friday.

Also In District C-1, Forgan earned a trip to the playoffs by defeating Balko 22-6.

In Class A, second-ranked Okeene put a 49-0 whipping on Texhoma to finish the regular season 10-0.

Beaver defeated Mooreland 13-0 to wrap up second in the district and Mooreland will advance as the fourth place team.

In the other district games, Seiling defeated Hooker 20-6 and Thomas downed Turpin 24-0.

Jeremiah Hathaway got Sharon-Mutual off to a big start against Tyrone with a 75-yard touchdown run. Preston Hathaway added the conversion.

The Trojans scored twice more in the first quarter. Jory Custar broke a 28-yard touchdown run and passed to Mac Griffith for the conversion. Zach Starks then scored from one-yard out and Custar threw to Preston Hathaway for the extra points.

Tyrone scored, but it didn’t slow the Trojans any.

Custar and Griffith connected on a 16-yard touchdown pass, then Preston Hathaway had a 12-yard run. Preston Hathaway had both conversions, one on a run and the other on a pass.

Oscar Tovar countered with a three-yard touchdown run for Tyrone, but Sharon-Mutual finished off the game with three more scores.

Custar had a 21-yard touchdown run and Preston Hathaway the conversion. Custar then threw to Griffith for eight yards and a score, then Devin Covalt’s 25-yard interception return finished the game via the 45-point mercy rule in the third period.

Balko scored first against Forgan, but the Bulldogs ran off 22 unanswered points in the second half to qualify for the playoffs.

Jarrod Brittain’s 90-yard interception return midway through the first period gave Balko a lead it would hold until the second half.

Forgan had 408 yards in total offense, but didn’t score until the 8:55 mark of the third period on a 12-yard run by Daniel Unruh that tied the game 6-6.

Late in the third period, Dace Lemieux scored on a one-yard run to give the Bulldogs the lead. Forgan sealed the victory on Travis Compton’s 62-yard run with 10 minutes remaining.

Okeene controlled Texhoma from the get-go, scoring in every period.

Brady Wardlaw rushed for thee touchdowns and threw for two more, and Matt Benham had two scores for the Whippets.

Okeene piled up 479 yards in total offense.
