Gate, parking information

This year for middle school and junior varsity football games at Boomer Stadium, the only gate that will be open is the south gate.  The other gates will be locked.  All players, coaches, fans etc, need to enter/exit through the south gate, said Woodward school officials.

There are also softball games, so please don’t park against curbs, in the grass, etc; only park in parking spaces.

The area in front of the stadium will be blocked off, as no one is to park between the chain link fence and the pipe rail fence.

Woodward’s 7th, 8th and 9th grade teams open their seasons tonight against Weatherford at Boomer Stadium. The 7th grade starts at 4:30 p.m. followed by the 8th grade and 9th grade.

Home softball games will have the middle school playing Sharon-Mutual at 4:15 p.m. and the high school junior varsity playing a doubleheader against Sharon-Mutual starting at 5 p.m.

Kids, Inc. registration

Sign-ups are under way for girls 5th and 6th grade basketball at Kids, Inc. and will run through Sept. 7.

The child must be present at registration and before any child can play at sport at Kids, Inc. a birth certificate needs to be on file. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Also, the registration period is open for adult volleyball and will run through Sept. 22.

Baseball camp scheduled

“Let it Fly!” is a 2010 Oklahoma baseball camp set for Fuller Park in Woodward. Members of the University of Oklahoma baseball coaching staff will conduct the camp.

The camp will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12.

Softball team in action

After getting rained out on Tuesday, the Boomers will try and get back on the softball field tonight as they travel to Watonga for games against the host team and Kingfisher starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Boomers were ahead of Weatherford 5-0 in the fourth inning when the rains came Tuesday. The teams may try and finish the game later this season.

Mooreland won twice on Tuesday, defeating Hammon 4-2 and Seiling 13-1. The 18-2 Bearcats will host Shattuck today. Mooreland is ranke 4th in Class A by okrankings.com.
