As is the norm during fall break, most of the area football games are being played tonight.
One that should attract plenty of attention has Seiling traveling to Laverne for a District B-1 contest.
Laverne waits with a 5-0 record, 33-game winning streak at the state’s top ranking in Class B.
Tanner Allen and Dalton Birch lead an explosive Tiger offense.
Seiling counters with a team that can put up big points as well, but the Wildcats are coming off a tough 40-32 loss to Pond Creek-Hunter.
Other B-1 games of note have Merritt at Turpin and Canton at Waukomis.
In District C-1, Sharon-Mutual will host Balko and Waynoka makes the long trip to Boise City.
Balko is looking to stay close to Cherokee in the district race after dropping a two-point decision to the Chiefs a week ago. Sharon-Mutual is also coming off a loss at Waynoka.
Waynoka could take a big step toward solidifying a playoff spot with a win at Boise City, where the Wildcats field a much-improved team.
Also in C-1, Shattuck is home for a non-district game against Life Christian Academy and Buffalo goes to Tyrone.
In District A-1, Mooreland travels to Thomas, the Beaver Dusters are at Hooker, Texhoma hosts Burns Flat and Fairview is home against Sayre.
Mooreland will try to knock Thomas from the ranks of the unbeaten and the Bearcats have some momentum after putting 50 points on the board against the Hooker Bulldogs last week.
Fairview looks to stay unbeaten in the district and Beaver hopes to stay a game behind the leaders.
