The path to the 270 Conference boys basketball championship still runs through Fargo.

And, the Bearcats are not letting anyone past them.

Fargo won its fourth consecutive 270 Conference championship with a 74-58 win over a Vici team the Bearcats lost to earlier this season.

In the girls game, Vici won a 44-43 thriller, surviving a last-second shot by Arnett.

The games were played in Shattuck.

Fargo is pretty good at this conference championship stuff.

Senior starters Luke Moyer and Trevor Long of Fargo completed their 270 careers with a spotless 7-0 record in championship games dating back to their seventh grade days.

Moyer had a huge game against Vici with 28 points and used several nice post moves to get defenders in foul trouble.

Wes Miller added 16 points and Dylan Baker 14 for the Bearcats, who led from start to finish.

In addition to early foul trouble, Vici was never quite able to get anything going from the perimeter.

Fargo led by nine at halftime, 47-38, then broke the game open in the third period.

Daniel Balderas led Vici with 19 points and Chance Beck scored 14.

The girls game went down to the wire and Vici got the win on the strength of two Hannah Guthrie free throws with 1:08 remaining.

That gave Vici a 44-42 lead. Arnett’ Janel Mitchel hit one of two free throws with 5.5 seconds left, and Arnett had a last-second chance but Sarah Miller’s drive to the bucket came up short.

Arnett led by as many as seven points in the third period, but Vici stormed back to go up by three with 4:52 left to play.

Mitchell retied the game for Arnett with 2:00 left and the score was tied two more times before Vici got the final advantage.

With Johna Gregory spending much of the game in foul trouble, Guthrie was the offensive catalyst for Vici with 29 points. Allison Arnold added nine.

Mitchell had the big game for Anett with 24 points and Alysha Taylor scored six.
