Woodward’s eighth grade basketball teams beat Guymon Monday night while the seventh grade teams split.
In ninth grade action, the Woodward boys won and girls lost in the first round of the Fairview Tournament.
The Boomer seventh and eighth grade boys teams were playing at home Monday while the girls teams were in Guymon.
Coach Shane Pinckard’s eighth grade boys were dominant, rolling to a 50-27 victory and 13-0 record.
Daniel Nelson led the Boomers with 12 points and Garrett Roach scored 11. Ten players got in the scoring column for Woodward.
The seventh grade boys lost 41-22.
Trevor Collier and Alex Alvarez led the Boomers with five points each.
In Guymon, the eighth grade won a low-scoring game, 23-18.
Annalea Hunter led the Boomers with nine points and Mikala Wynn had seven.
The seventh grade girls posted a 27-22 victory as Jenna Trissel and Haylee Bates scored eight points apiece.
Woodward’s seventh grade teams will be back in action on Thursday in the Weatherford Tournament.
At Fairview, the ninth grade girls led Chisholm 18-15 after three periods, but couldn’t hold the lead and lost 23-21.
Woodward will play again on Thursday.
Preslee Newby had six points and Haley Yarbrough five to lead the Boomers.
The boys game was a rout as Woodward outscored Chisholm 12-0 in the first quarter on the way to a 45-24 victory.
The undefeated Boomers will be in the semifinals on Thursday.
Austin Hickman led Woodward with 14 points and Drake Smithton scored 11.
