WEATHERFORD - A week-long road trip for the Boomers starts here tonight.

The Boomer teams face Weatherford in Western Conference action with the girls starting at 6:30 p.m. and the boys at approximately 8 p.m.

Then on Thursday, the Boomers travel to Newcastle for their final regular season tournament of the season. The girls face Piedmont at 7 p.m. and the boys Chickasha at 8:30 p.m.

This is the second meeting of the year between the Boomers and Eagles. Woodward won both games in December, the girls 54-52 in overtime and the boys 60-51. The girls later lost to the Eagles 52-41 in the Weatherford Tournament.

Going into the rubber match, the Boomer girls are 5-6 but on a two-game losing streak. Weatherford started 0-6, but is 6-9 now and owns a four-game winning streak.

Weatherford’s boys are 7-8 and winners of four straight while the Boomers are 6-5 and coming off a loss to Anadarko.

The area schedule tonight includes Freedom at Aline-Cleo, Laverne at Arnett, Buffalo at Vici, Canton at Lomega, Sharon-Mutual at Fargo-Gage, Forgan at Shattuck, Burlington at Mooreland and Hammon at Seiling.
