ELK CITY - Woodward’s boys, ranked in the top 10 in Class 4A, won their 13th game of the season Tuesday night with a solid 69-57 victory over Elk City.

Matt Moore had 23 points and the Boomers improved to 13-3.

Woodward led 30-20 at halftime and broke the game open in the second half, leading by as many as 24 points.

Moore was the only Boomer player in double figures. Kurt Ham and Ben Murray finished with nine points each, Eric Smith scored eight, Andrew Hickman and David Nelson each had seven, Austin Stone scored five and Austin Miller two.

After the girls game, the Boomers own a two-game winning streak for the first time this year. Woodward led virtually the entire game to beat Elk City 55-51 in overtime.

Elk City got even on a three-pointer in the final minute of regulation, but the Boomers regained the lead in overtime and hit enough free throws to turn away the Elkettes.

Amy Weder and Chelsea Murray scored 13 points each for the Boomers and Katelyn Hunter scored 12. Korie Ham and Jessica Hamill scored eight points each. Michelle Estep had one. The Boomers are 4-12.

The Boomers stay on the road Friday with games at Dodge City, Kan. Varsity action begins at 6:15 p.m.

The Boomers host Altus on Saturday.
