GARDEN CITY, Kan. –  The homestanding Buffaloes jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and defeated the Woodward Boomers 35-0 at Memorial Stadium Friday night.

Class 6A Garden City used its size and depth to hand the Boomers their first loss of the season.

Both teams are 1-1 this year.

Jake Curran fueled the Garden City attack, running for 2 touchdowns and throwing for 2 more. Zach Lamb had a 4th-quarter touchdown for the only points in the second half.

The Boomers were unable to get much going on offense and finished with 124 total yards.

Woodward did force 4 turnovers, including 3 pass interceptions.

The Boomers will stay on the road next week as they visit Weatherford.
