Laverne, Sharon-Mutual and Shattuck all picked up expected victories in area football action Friday night

Laverne outscored Waukomis 42-6 in the second half and pulled away to a 56-14 victory.

Sharon-Mutual used a pair of second-half touchdowns to defeat Tyrone 22-6.

Shattuck won its sixth consecutive district title and 65th game in a row by beating Boise City 54-6.

At halftime, the Laverne Tigers found themselves in a game.

Laverne led only 14-8 at the break, but the second half was a whole new story.

The Tigers rolled up 26 points in the third period alone and added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter for an impressive win.

Laverne, 8-2, will host a Class B playoff game next Friday. The Tigers finished their district season at 7-1, tied with Pond Creek-Hunter, an upset loser to Timberlake.

Seth King had a big night for the Tigers three touchdown runs and one touchdown pass.

King had runs of 13, 43 and 2 yards for scores. He teamed up with Kyle Cook on a 54-yard scoring play as well.

Dillon McGuire had a 21-yard run for a touchdown, Austin Landess scored on a one-yard run and Jack Taylor had runs of 61 and 9 yards.

Laverne piled up 344 yards on the ground.

Sharon-Mutual and Tyrone were also locked in a battle for a half as it was 6-6.

The Trojans though, got something going in the final two periods to finish the year at 7-2

Sharon-Mutual will host Grandfield in the Class C playoffs on Friday in a rematch from last year’s first round.

Jeremiah Hathaway had the opening touchdown against Tyrone on a 46-yard run.

Tate Cain answered for the Bobcats with a 73-yard touchdown scamper.

In the third period, Clint White had a 20-yard touchdown run and added the two-point conversion.

Hathaway provided the final touchdown with a four-yard run.

Sharon-Mutual had 194 yards in total offense to 93 for Tyrone.

Shattuck’s easy win will have the Indians at home for at least two weeks.

Waynoka also qualified for the playoffs with a win over DCLA on Thursday.
