Funeral services for Rose Dawson, 77-year-old Woodward resident, will be Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Independent First Christian Church in Mooreland, Okla. Pastor Josh Henson will officiate. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Johnson’s Good Samaritan Funeral Service.

Rose Marie Dawson was born Aug. 9, 1928 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Joseph and Emma Derschon. She grew up and attended school in the Los Angeles area along with her 10 brothers and sisters. Rose moved to Woodward in 1984 where she made many friends. She loved to laugh, tell stories and play bingo.

Mrs. Dawson died Dec. 17 at Crystal Wood Nursing Home in Woodward.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Emma; her husband Robert Donald; her daughter Annette Marie; her son-in-law Arthur Manseau; her grandson Michael Manseau; and all her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Shepherd and husband David of Woodward and Linda Manseau of Murray, Utah; a son and his wife John and Linda Sanford of Huntington Beach, Calif.; grandchildren Michelle and H. L. Baird of Stillwater, Okla.; Robert and Lisa Murley of Mooreland, Okla.; James Shepherd of Shattuck, Okla.; Jessica and Natalie Sanford of Huntington Beach, Calif.; John and Kristi Manseau of American Fork, Utah; Joseph and Traci Manseau of Enid, Okla.; Lorraine Manseau of Arkansas; Robert and Regan Dawson of Woodward, and Amanda Swenson of Woodward. Rose also had 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Our family would like to extend our appreciation for the wonderful care our mother received over the years from the staff at the Woodward Regional Hospital; the attentive care she received from the staff at Crystal Wood Nursing Home; the prayers and talks with Pastor Josh and Wendy Henson and for the sincere care she received from Dr. John Sutton.
