RONALD J. LIVINGSTON, youngest of two sons born to Donnie Ray and Alverta (Schafer) Livingston, was born August 17, 1938 southeast of Seiling,
Oklahoma in Dewey County. He departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 near his home southeast of Seiling while checking cattle on his farm. He was 69 years of age.
He was raised on the family farm southeast of Seiling and he attended Seiling School graduating from high school with the class of 1956. He furthered his education at Southwestern in Weatherford one year and then he entered the United States Army. He was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wash. He received his honorable discharge and he returned to Seiling.
He was united in marriage to Linnia J. Hoffert, Feb. 7, 1960 at the First Christian Church in Woodward. They made their home in Seiling where Ronald began working at the Seiling Hardware. Later, he worked at the Redinger Hardware several years then he became a self employed oil field pumper for 20 years. One of his greatest joys was his farming and cattle. Ronald was a member of the First Christian Church where he has served as a deacon for many years. He served on the Seiling School Board in all capacities and was a retired volunteer firefighter for the Seiling Fire Department. He was currently serving on the Dewey County Excise Board. Mostly, he loved his wife, children and he adored his four granddaughters and enjoyed attending ballgames and other events they participated in.
He is survived by his wife, Lin Livingston of Seiling; one daughter: Staci Bowen and her husband Wes of Dallas, Texas; one son: Greg Livingston and his wife Pam of Seiling; four granddaughters: Chelsie Paige and Kaci Lin Livingston; Emily Nicole and Sarah Elizabeth Bowen. He is also survived by his brother: Allan Livingston and wife Ivanna of Clinton besides many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 at the First Christian Church with Pastor Dennis Adair, officiating. Interment will be in the Brumfield Cemetery under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.redingerfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions can be made to the Area Medical Foundation or the Brumfield Cemetery with the Redinger Funeral Home-Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663 serving as custodian of the funds.
Viewing and visitation with the family will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church.
