Robert W. Phillips, 62 year old resident of Mooreland, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 in the Mooreland Heritage Manor. Graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2007 in the Mooreland Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Robert Wendell Phillips was born Dec. 23, 1944 to Jimmie Grandville and Madeline Beatrice (Irwin) Phillips. Robert was born in Mooreland, where he grew up and attended school. He also attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. He served in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Denise Annette Whitney on April 11, 1970. Two children were born of this union, Heather Leigh and Edi Annette. On Jan. 25, 1976 he was married to Susan Blevins. They had a son, Thomas Shea. Robert was a farmer, mechanic and he worked in the oil field industry for many years.

Robert is survived by his children, Edi Burnet and husband Andrew of Manchester; Thomas Phillips of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Marshall, Emily and Lauren Burnet of Manchester; his siblings Don Phillips and wife Linda of Mooreland; Patricia Castell and husband Kenneth of Stratford; numerous nephews and nieces as well as Aunts Mary Irwin Towns of Wichita, Kan. and Jean Phillips of Monett, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Heather Leigh.
