Funeral services for Robert Foster, 81-year-old Woodward resident, will be Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Garden Chapel of Johnson’s Good Samaritan Funeral Service. The Rev. Mary Davis, Vicar of St. John’s Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Robert Lee Foster was born Aug. 15, 1925 in Bartlesville, Okla., to Roy and Edna (Evans) Foster. He grew to manhood in Bartlesville and joined the U. S. Navy to serve in WW II. Following the war he returned to Bartlesville and finished high school. He then went to work in the oil field. On July 16, 1949 Robert was married to Doris White of Mooreland, Okla. His work with City Service Oil Company took them to several states but in 1965 it brought them to Woodward, where they made their home. Bob worked as a barber on Main Street until retiring in 1999.
They found much pleasure in traveling together.
Mr. Foster died Dec. 30 at the Mooreland Heritage Manor.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2000, his parents, a brother, Roy and a sister, Winifred.
He is survived by a brother, John Evans Foster of Austin, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Tuesday.
