The Oklahoma Blood Institute is asking for Oklahomans to step up and give blood during a challenging time.
“Summer is a particularly challenging time for the blood supply,” said OBI President and CEO John Armitage, M.D. “People go out of town, and are busy with activities, and get out of their normal routine of giving blood. We encourage healthy adults to spare just an hour of their time to save the lives of their neighbors.”
There are a number of blood drives coming up in the area donors can visit to give blood:
Tuesday, June 11 - CF Industries, 1000 Terra Dr. from 8 a.m. to noon.
Wednesday, June 12 - Living Word Fellowship from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Wednesday , June 12 - Xpress Wellness Urgent Care from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, June 12 - Ignite Church Woodward from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday, June 14 - Woodward Walmart from noon to 6 p.m.
Friday, June 14 - Omni Media Group from noon to 6 p.m.
The “Summer Vibes and Saving Lives” campaign continues through these blood drives, and donors will receive a t-shirt and their choice of voucher; one entry to Science Museum Oklahoma or two entries to Safari Joe’s H2O Water & Adventure Park.
