Woodward County Commissioners met Monday morning for a regularly scheduled meeting in the Courthouse.
Representatives from American Trustee, Inc. led the meeting with a presentation on supplemental insurance for county employees. Commissioners expressed interest in receiving some price comparisons at a later date. No action was taken at this time.
Commissioners approved several resolutions disposing of equipment/declaration of surplus:
- John Deere 624J Wheel Loader for District #1.
- 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe & 2001 Chevrolet pickup from the Sheriff’s office to be taken to District Auction.
- 1999 Scotty Trailer - Fire prevention - to be taken to District Auction.
The board approved Circuit Engineering District Auction Policies and, according to District #3 Commissioner Vernie Matt, are the same as previous years.
The monthly reports of County Officers were approved followed by the appointment of requisition and receiving agents for District #3; Vernie Matt, Marni Shaw, Donnie Thorne, Jason Hardy, and Dylan Hickman.
The board voted to join the State Purchase Card Program, which issues a line of credit card to specific county employees for county use. Only 16 cards will be issued for expenses such as travel. Commissioners also approved a list of purchase cardholders.
Commissioners approved a retirement letter from Sonya Coleman asking commissioners to appoint Kim Bowers, treasurer elect, to fill out her unexpired term of office as county treasurer. Coleman’s last day in office will be Feb. 28.
An application for a permit from NWEC for an electricity powerline in District #2 Section 25-T20N-R18W was approved followed by purchase orders.
The board opened sealed bids for chairs, carts, and tables for the Event Center (B-19-2) and road materials county wide (B-19-3). Both were tabled.
Under new business, the board discussed an ongoing issue with a fire alarm in the courthouse that goes off daily. The panel has already been replaced but the issue has continued. The board agreed to address the issue on the next agenda.
