John Dale played by Tyler Powell, a middle aged bachelor and prominent businessman, is attracted to a little shop with a sign that reads, “We Rent Anything.” Following a whim, he decides to put the proprietor, Anne Weston played by Eryn Brooks, to the test- that is, to have her rent him a Christmas according to his specifications. Being a man of means, he assures her that expense is no problem, but specifies that for his “Rented Christmas” he have a wife and a family and all of the happiness of which he has secretly dreamed. Anne feels that she has solved the problem of a Christmas family by calling actors guild, but when the young actors come down with the measles her last hope is to turn to the local orphanage. And when the guild can’t locate a mother for the part, Anne steps in at the last minute to play the role herself. A “rented” Christmas soon turns into a new life for all concerned, which makes this a very warm, and special holiday treat.
