With the introduction of a motion to dismiss, Associate District Judge R. W. Collier has set a new hearing date in the felony case against Woodward County Sheriff Les Morton.

Collier has canceled a preliminary hearing that was set for Tuesday morning. Instead he has scheduled a motion hearing for Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. to review the motion to dismiss that was filed by Morton’s attorney Mack Martin last week in Woodward County District Court.

When and if Collier reschedules the preliminary hearing will be determined on Aug. 5, according to Charlie Price, spokesman for the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office.
