Woodward Police detectives are trying to tie up a few loose ends in their investigation into a recent string of burglaries.

Det. Lt. Chuck Wheeler said he and Det. Sgt. Billy Parker, who is the lead investigator in the burglary cases, still have a few more interviews to complete before they submit more information to the Woodward County District Attorney’s Office.

However, Wheeler said Parker is hoping to wind up the investigation by the end of the week.

He said Parker will then present a report to the DA’s Office, which he expects will lead to additional charges being made. He said some of these charges could go against two suspects who are already in custody in Woodward County Jail, while other charges could lead to additional arrests.

Wheeler said so far Parker’s investigation has provided them with information that should allow them to clear a number of recent burglaries at local businesses.

He said Parker has also gotten information that could help solve other burglaries that occurred outside the Woodward Police Department’s jurisdiction. That information, which includes written statements, has been presented to the Woodward, Harper and Ellis County Sheriff’s Offices, Wheeler said.
