A state elected official and an Oklahoma business leader are on the guest list for the Nov. 5 Northwest Oklahoma Alliance (NWOA) Network luncheon.
State House of Representatives Speaker-Designate Kris Steele and Brad Williams, legislative liaison for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, will be featured speakers at the luncheon.
Steele is set to discuss issues slated for the upcoming Oklahoma legislative session, while Williams will talk about legislative matters that will affect economic development in Northwest Oklahoma.
“This is kind of a big deal for Steele,” said Brent Kisling, member of the NWOA board. “This is his first meeting after being appointed Speaker.”
The program is set for 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Northwest Oklahoma State University-Woodward campus, 2007 34th Street. Reservations may be made by contacting Lisa Powell at (580) 233-4232 or by e-mail at email@example.com .
Kisling said they’d like to have the registrations in before Nov. 4, “so we will have enough food.”
According to to the organization's website at nwoka.com, the Northwest Oklahoma Alliance is an organization that provides a platform to unite Northwest Oklahoma by coordinating, consolidating, developing and promoting regional resources.
Kisling said the organization's board meets once a quarter. When it gathers, which will happen at the Nov. 5 session, they discuss future programs.
“I know there are some issues about transportation starting to ramp up in the area,” he said.
In addition, he said, “Wind energy efforts” may also be covered at a future date.
