The 2005 Fort Supply Community Fair will be held the Friday and Saturday.

Activities start at 5:30 p.m. Friday and continue throughout the day on Saturday, organizers said.

“We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the festivities, bring your ice cream, cake, cherry pie, and lawn chairs,” said executive board member Nancy Loyd.

The fair will kick off at 5:30 p.m. Friday with the dog show. All entries for the dog show will be taken and then the canines will be split into three categories depending on the types and number of dogs entered.

There will also be a cherry pie contest and the entries for that will be judged at 6:30 p.m. Friday during the ice cream social.

“We will have one judge checking out all of the pies but everyone will be able to have a bite if wanted during the ice cream social,” Loyd said.

Starting at 7 p.m. the fair will be having foot and bicycle races. Also, there will be a turtle race as well. The turtle race will be for land turtles only.

Starting on Saturday inside entries will be taken from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and judging of the entries will begin a 9:15 a.m.

Livestock entries will be due by 5 p.m. and livestock entries include cattle, sheep, swine, horses, rabbits, poultry, and waterfowl.

“We will have free hot dogs and pop which will be provided by David and Susan Washmon and Donald and Katy Wanger,” Loyd said.
