Those interested in running for county or state offices will have 3 days next week to file for candidacy.
The filing period will open at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9 and close at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 11.
Candidates for state offices will file with the Secretary of the State Election Board in Oklahoma City, according to Carol Carrell, Woodward County Election Board secretary.
County candidates will file locally at the county election board office located in the basement of the Woodward County Courthouse.
County offices up for election this year include:
- County Assessor - Currently held by Mistie Dunn
- County Treasurer - Currently held by Sonya Coleman
- County Commissioner, District No. 1 - Currently held by Tommy Roedell
- County Commissioner, District No. 3 - Currently held by Vernie Matt
Also up for election this year are the District 26 District Attorney position, as well as state legislative seats and all statewide offices.
