An Ethnic Food Fair will be held this Saturday at the Pioneer Room.

Hours are 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and proceeds will benefit the High Plains Outreach Shelter.

Food booths, featuring a large number of choices from various nations, are sponsored by area churches.

High Plains Outreach is a shelter for the homeless and serves a large area. Counties served by the shelter include Woodward, Woods, Major, Ellis, Harper and Dewey.

The shelter provides meals, blankets, toiletries and any other support possible to those with legitimate needs.

The shelter, food fair organizers said, can accommodate three to four families at any one time. There is a maximum limit of 30 days residence. High Plains provides assistance to each family one time.

In addition to fund raisers and donations, partial funding for the shelter comes from state, federal and foundation grants.

Tickets can be purchased from any member of the shelter’s board of directors or at the shelter office. For tickets by mail, call 580-256-5366.
