When it comes to animals Kami Jensen is a girl in the know.

Jensen, a Woodward High School salutatorian, plans to attend Oklahoma State University where she will major in pre-veterinary medicine and animal science.

Jensen has been awarded scholarships from OSU as well as the Cattlemen’s Scholarship, the District Livestock Bud Nelson Memorial Scholarship and a Ford Scholarship.

Jensen plans to become a veterinarian and help animals – both small and large.

“I know there’s a need for large animal vets,” said Jensen, who is more than willing to help fill that gap.

In high school Jensen was involved in FFA, National Honor Society and Re’dinks along with keeping up with her studies and maintaining a high grade point average.

As for support over the years, Jensen says she could not have made it without her family and friends.

“They’ve supported me all the way,” said Jensen.

In her spare time Jensen enjoys taking it easy with her friends and also her family – parents Mark and Cheri and older brother Kent.

Jensen has attended Woodward schools since the sixth grade.

“It’s a good place to go to school because of the small atmosphere and the school spirit,” said Jensen.
