Two responsible beverage service and sales training sessions will be held in Woodward on July 24.

The sessions will be held at the High Plains Technology Center. Session one is from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the second one is from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Registration deadline is July 17.

Training is free and open to anyone. All beer, wine and alcohol retailers are urged to attend. The sessions will satisfy the training requirements in the new alcohol law that became effective last October.

Areas of focus include laws, regulations and ordinances governing the sale and use of alcohol and the consequences for violations, including sales of alcohol to minors, intoxicated persons and the mentally incompetent; Checking IDs and determining what IDs are acceptable; adopting and enforcing an alcohol policy and keeping incident records.
