HETTIE GEORGIA PARKS
will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery will Rev. Aaron Nutter officiating. Interment is under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka.
Hettie Georgia Parks, daughter of the late George Andrew and Hettie Lucy (Hayes) Ferguson, was born May 6, 1921, at Waynoka, Okla., and passed away March 15, 2006, at Muskogee, Okla., at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 10 days.
Georgia graduated from Waynoka High School and received her teaching certificate from Northwestern State College in 1943. She taught school at Webb, Okla. and ran a country store in Banner, Okla. On April 23, 1947, she was united in marriage to Richard Julius Parks at Waynoka. They made their home in Waynoka. Georgia wrote articles for the Woods County Enterprise for a short time and also volunteered at the Waynoka Library. Due to failing health, she moved to Muskogee in 2001 to be near her daughter.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2000.
Georgia is survived by one son, Richard Parks and his wife, Mary, of Oklahoma City; one daughter Faye Banks and her husband, Roy, of Muskogee; four grandchildren, Billy Banks, of Muskogee, Janetta Geslin and her husband, Brian, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Tiffany Kuhlemeier and her husband, Kevin, of Lubbock, Texas and Christopher Johnson of Oklahoma City; four great-grandchildren, Zachery, Cassie and Kristin Geslin of Oklahoma City and Katie Kuhlemeier, other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Waynoka Library.
