GREGG THOMPSON, 40 year old Woodward resident, died Dec.12, 2005 at his home. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Free Will Baptist Church in Woodward. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Johnson’s Good Samaritan Funeral Service.

Greggory Dale Thompson was born July 28, 1965 at Lovington, N. M. to Glenn Dale and Eugenia Mae (Brodie) Thompson. The family lived in Lovington a few years before moving to McAllen, Texas in 1969. Gregg began school at McAllen, where he completed part of the third grade. His family moved to Sharon, Oklahoma in February of 1974 and Gregg enrolled in the Sharon-Mutual School graduating with the Class of 1983. Gregg then enrolled at Oklahoma State University where he graduated in 1988 with a degree in agriculture economics. He accepted a position with Carol Foods, a Virginia company. Gregg worked for them for a few years before returning to Oklahoma. He worked at several different jobs before going to work at the Terra Nitrogen Plant in 1996, working his way up to a Tech. 4 operator.

Gregg was a very caring person. He enjoyed the simple things of life like a day going fishing or hunting with his dad or playing a few rounds of golf. He had a natural talent for drawing and could sketch almost anything he set his mind to. Gregg had a servants heart and would do anything he could to help others. He was so concerned, during his illness, about causing any discomfort to those who were helping him. Gregg’s special smile and loving words shall always be cherished by his family.

Gregg was saved and baptized at the age of 14. He joined the Sharon First Baptist Church and continued his membership there until just recently joining the Woodward Free Will Baptist Church.

Gregg was preceded in death by his two grandfathers.

He is survived by his parents, Glenn and Jeannie Thompson of Woodward, his sister Kim Eichelberger of Yukon, two very special nephews, whom he loved very much, Andrew Cole and Isaac Kent Eichelberger; his grandmothers, Helen Brodie of Woodward and Leone Thompson of Vici; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Memorials can be made in Gregg’s honor to a college fund for his two nephews at the Woodward Branch of the Central National Bank of Enid.
