Evelyn Loretta Logue Smith was born on August 18, 1926 at Oklahoma City, OK to Joe and Dolly Knight Logue.  She departed this life at the age of 80 on May 13, 2007, Mothers Day, in Vici, OK at the home of her daughter, Sherry.  Evelyn attended grade school in Oklahoma City at Heronville, and junior high at Star in northeast Oklahoma City.  The family then moved to California where she continued her education at John Marshall High School in Los Angeles.  She was united in marriage to Leslie J. Smith on May 1, 1945 in Los Angeles.  To this union three children were born; Sherry, JoAnn, and Rick.  The family moved to Big Pine, CA where she was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn in 1949 by her Uncle Bill Knight.  The family lived in many locations in California.  In 1968, she was joined in marriage to Lysle Smith and lived in Huntington Beach, CA.  In 1985, she moved to Vici, OK where she lived until her passing.  Evelyn was a wonderful mother and homemaker.  She taught her children many morals and values that would help them structure their lives towards serving God and living the Faith.  She was instrumental in helping raise her dear niece, Patty, whom she always felt was her first daughter.  Evelyn was a loving and caring person who enjoyed singing and making melody in her heart to the Lord.  She loved caring for her home and yard.  She was an example to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she took time to love and play with.  She was always willing to help in time of need.  Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Dolly Logue; by her two husbands; by her sister, Thelma Essig; and by daughter, JoAnn Coulter.  She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Coleman of Vici, OK; by son, Rick Smith and wife Sandy of Fullerton, CA; by grandchildren, Chris Mann and husband Travis of Sharon, OK, Craig Coleman and wife Jeania of Yukon, OK, Richie Smith and Sandra Smith of Fullerton, CA; by five great-grandchildren, Amber Mann of Vici, Logan, Ethan and Seth Mann of Sharon and Megan Longacre of Yukon; by many nieces, nephews, brethren, and friends.

Services were held Thursday, May 17, 2007 in the Church of the Firstborn, Vici, Oklahoma with interment following in Sunnyside Cemetery.  Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Vici, OK
