Emylou Jackson, 91, Marlow, Okla., died Sun. Sept. 18, 2005 in Woodward. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tues., Sept. 20, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, Okla., with Dr. Joe Ligon officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Okla.

Emylou was born Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1914 in Mounds, Okla., to the late Melvin A. and the late Nancy Elizabeth (DeWitt) Hall. Emylou married the late William “Bill” Jackson on Nov. 23, 1935 in Tecumseh, Okla. Emylou loved to work, she began cooking at Fox Schools from 1957 to 1961. She moved to Marlow in 1961. Emylou cooked for the Marlow Lions’s Club, and at Talley-Walker Hospital. After the hosp. closed she worked as a part time custodian for Marlow Schools finally retiring at the age of 83. She worked in her yard and flower gardens. She enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels at her bird bath and feeders. Emylou loved to travel with the church group all over Oklahoma and also to Branson and Nashville. She enjoyed walking and walked so much she wore out her knees. She moved to West Wind in 2000 and was one of the first residents. Emylou was a member of the Silvertones, Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church in Marlow.

Survivors include, Son, Bill Jackson and wife Sharon of Woodward, Okla.; 2 grandchildren, Jeff Jackson and wife Linda of Elk City, Okla., Jay Jackson and wife Melissa of Enid, Okla.; 4 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sisters, Leona Aldridge, Zelma Crowder, Gertrude Rush; 5 Brothers, Sid Hall, Bill Hall, Ray Hall, Acy Hall, Clovis Hall.

Pallbearers: Harry Callaway, Al Bennett, Chuck Dory, Bill Harris, Terry Brown, Richard Price, Honorary: Faith Sunday School Class.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church building fund.
