Ednairl Allen "Eddy" Neill passed from this life on her journey to eternity on June 22, 2007 at the Mooreland Heritage Manor. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Billings Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at the Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass, Texas under the direction of Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes of Aransas Pass, Texas.

Ednairl Allen Neill was born on May 22, 1911 in Clareville, Texas to Arthur and Pearl (Jones) Allen. Eddy graduated from Aransas Pass High School in May of 1929. Eddy then met the love of her life, George Archie Neill and they were married on June 6, 1931. They celebrated their Golden Anniversary on June 6, 1981 at the First Baptist Church in Portland, Texas. Eddy and Archie made their home all over south Texas during the 43 years he worked for Humble Oil and Refining Co. When Archie retired from then Exxon in 1970, they made their home in Portland, Texas where they were active with the First Baptist Church of Portland, Texas and the Masonic and Eastern Star activities. She and Archie were active in canasta clubs, and they visited many nursing homes with other friends until Archie‚s death on January 14, 1982. Eddy continued to live in Portland for the next ten years after Archie‚s death, until her failing eyesight made it necessary for her to move to Woodward, Okla. in May of 1992 to be closer to her daughter, Patricia Faye Hamon.

For the past six years, Eddy has been a resident of the Mooreland Heritage Manor in Mooreland, Okla.

She is survived by her son, George Archie Neill, Jr. and wife Dolly of Logansport, Louisiana; Patricia Faye Hamon and husband Woody of Woodward, Okla.; two grandchildren, Trey Wendell Hamon and his wife Kellie of Oklahoma City; Jana Gay and husband Maurice Sheets of Wichita, Kan.; three step-grandchildren, Dolly Moncrief, Denise Bethune, Jack Owen Jr. all of Shreveport, La.; Eddy also leaves her special three great-grandchildren, Tate Allen Hamon of Oklahoma City; Elizabeth Lee "Libby" and Jay Danielle "Dani" Sheets of Wichita, Kan.; 10 step-great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Arthurine Hutto of Hideaway, Texas; one sister-in-law, Faye Neill Spurgeon of Austin, Texas. Coming from a family of five daughters, and marrying into the Neill family of seven children, Eddy leaves many nieces and nephews from both sides of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Katherine, Jonnie, and Faye; one grandson, Kenneth Allen Neill and one step-grandchild, David Owen.
