Earl Bergeron, 68-year-old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at his home. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2007 in the St. Peters Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007 in the St. Peters Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Earl Joseph Bergeron was born Oct. 12, 1938 in Houma, La. to Easton Joseph and Verona Marie (Malbrough) Bergeron. Earl was reared in Houma, La. and attended Terrebonne High School, graduating in 1956. Earl enlisted in the United States Air Force on May 31, 1956. He was united in marriage to Mona Maria Pope on April 30, 1958 in Montegut, La. To this union four children were born, Dane, Lisa, Laurel and David. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 27, 1959. He returned to Houma where worked in the oil field for DTI Rental Tools. He was transferred to Woodward in the mid 1960's. In 1979 Earl went to work for Whiting and in 1982 he went to work for Patterson until 1986 when he became disabled from a car wreck and was forced to retire.

Earl was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church. Earl was also a member of the V.F.W. Disabled American Veterans, M.O.C. and the American Legion. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren, who he loved very much. He loved watching football and playing golf.

He is survived by his wife Mona Bergeron of the home; two sons David Bergeron and wife Misty of Woodward; CWO Dane Bergeron of Fort Bragg, N. C.; two daughters Lisa Bellows and husband Ricky of Woodward; Laurel Elliott and husband Don of Woodward; his mother Verona Bergeron of Houma, La.; two brothers Danny Bergeron and wife Cynthia; Alan Bergeron and wife Kay all of Houma, La.; two sisters Evelyn Voisin and husband Gary; Faye Daigle and husband Steve all of Houma, La.; nine grandchildren Erika Tyson of Woodward; Ben Bergeron of North Carolina; Amanda Bergeron of Bourg, La.; Colt and Dustin Elliott; Kortni and Kobe Bellows; Aaron and Thea Bergeron all of Woodward; numerous nieces, nephews other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Easton Bergeron, and his grandparents, Mr. Mrs. Veday Malbrough and Mr. and Mrs. Adam Bergeron.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peters Altar Society with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
