Funeral services for Donald Farnsworth, 86-year-old Fort Supply resident, will be Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Garden Chapel of Johnson’s Good Samaritan Funeral Service. The Rev. Bill Tindell will officiate. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery at Woodward under the direction of Johnson’s Good Samaritan Funeral Service.
Donald Farnsworth was born Jan. 29, 1919 in Glazier, Texas to Albert and Vera Adel (Stone) Farnsworth. He grew up at Glazier and served in the U. S. Army during WW II. In 1942, he was married to Olga Wiebe and following his discharge from the Army, they made their home at Canadian, Texas where he worked on a ranch.
In 1951, he was married to Deanie Stanford and they made their home at Iola, Kan. In 1970, Don married Delean Bellows and they made their home at Woodward. He spent most of his life running service stations and used car lots. Since 1974 he has owned and operated Don’s Sinclair and Used Car Sales in Fort Supply.
He considered his friends to be some of the greatest joy in his life.
Mr. Farnsworth died Dec. 16, 2005 at the Woodward Regional Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Thomas and Donald Loren; a daughter, Donetta; two sisters, Vesta Hufford and Norma Butts; a half-brother Edward Farnsworth; two half-sisters Anita Coleman and Jesse Baker; wife Delean Farnsworth; and a grandson, Shannon Wayne Hutchinson.
Don is survived by a son and his wife Don and Ann Farnsworth of Little Elm, Texas; three daughters, Sheila King and husband Steve of Wellington, Kan., Cindy Hill of Haysville, Kan., and Deane Patterson of Hutchinson, Kan.; two brothers, Wesley Farnsworth and wife Mary of San Jose, Calif., and Kenneth Farnsworth of Cheney, Kan.; two sisters, Wilma Holman of Woodward and Deloris Endsley of Huntington, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
