DEMA L. DECHAINE, 93-year-old resident of Woodward, died Jan. 8, 2006 at the Woodward Regional Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006 in the Elmwood Cemetery, with Melvin Rittenhouse officiating. Services are under the direction of the Zwanziger Funeral Home.

Dema L. (Blumer) Dechaine was born July 30, 1912 at Woodward , Okla. to Augusta and Caroline (Kammerzell) Blumer. She attended a little country school in Harper County, Okla. She married Peter Dechaine on Aug. 3, 1930 at Peoria, Ill. Dema loved to cook, working at many restaurants in Woodward, she enjoyed working in her flower garden and yard, also enjoyed painting and crocheting in her spare time, and loved to be with her family and friends.

She is survived by one son Richard (Dick) Dechaine, N.H., by three daughters, Florence Hodsden; Lawton, Okla., Caroline Vaughan; Vici, Okla., Virginia Day and husband Robert; El Reno, Okla., by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Dema was preceded in death by her parents and husband Peter Dechaine.
