CORALEE MINNICK, 85-year-old longtime resident of Fargo, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005 in the Crystal Wood Village Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2005 in the First United Methodist Church in Fargo. Burial will be in the Fargo Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Coralee (Drake) Minnick was born March 6, 1920 in Shattuck; she was the daughter of Roy Lee and Geneva Isabell (Covey) Drake. She grew up in the Sixteen Mile Community northwest of Fargo. She attended Fargo schools and graduated from Fargo High School in 1941. On June 20, 1941, Coralee was married to Leslie Leo Minnick in Fargo. They made their home on a farm south of Fargo. To this union, two children were born, Betty and Dale. In 1976, they moved to another farm also south of Fargo, living there until Leslie’s death on Feb. 6, 2000. Coralee was a farmer’s wife and helped run the farm with her husband. She enjoyed cooking for her family and being with her family.

Coralee was a member of the Fargo United Methodist Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid and enjoyed playing piano at the meetings. She also enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Ball and husband Roy of Mooreland; grandchildren, Lynda Ball of Mooreland; Brenda Swearingen and husband Robert of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Sage Minnick and Dallyn Minnick both of Woodward; step-grandchildren, Greg Grunewald and Laura of Jenks; Sarah Grunewald of Manhattan, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Laura Toellner of Woodward; brother, Wilbur Drake and wife Zella Mae of Fort Supply; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Dale Minnick and one brother Roy Lesley Drake.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Fargo with the funeral home as custodian of the fund.
