Funeral services for CHLOE NORMAN, 97-year-old Fargo resident, will be Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Fargo United Methodist Church. The Rev. Aaron Martin will officiate. Interment will be in the Fargo Cemetery under the direction of Johnson’s Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Woodward.

Chloe Audrey Norman was born Feb. 2, 1908 (the fifth of thirteen children) on the family farm southeast of Fargo to Joe and Ethel (Burd) Hininger. She attended Doris School and the Keenan Church, graduating from Fargo High School in 1927. She attended Draughns Business School in Woodward and then worked at Boyle Brothers Hardware in Woodward. On July 30, 1932 she married a neighbor boy, Cecil Norman. One son, Jack was born in 1935. In 1943, Cecil and Chloe bought the Norman homestead south of Fargo where they made their home. Cecil died in 1987, and in 1992 Chloe moved to Fargo.

She was a member of the Fargo United Methodist Church. She was a farm wife and homemaker who enjoyed quilting and playing Pitch. In the early years, she always raised a large garden and maintained orchards.

Mrs. Norman died Oct. 5, 2005 in the Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; her parents; 12 brothers and sisters: Harold, Herbert, Hazel, Nora, Sadia, Muriel, Lola Faye, Vistia, Eva, Francis, Darrell, and Thurlo.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Jack and Peggy Norman of Fargo; two granddaughters, Joyce Bell of Amarillo, Texas, and Gayle Cannon of Childress, Texas; three great-granddaughters, Holly Moya and her husband Abram, Amanda Husband, and Alexis Cannon; four great great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Kaden, Kollin, and Kar’Leigh of Childress, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the Fargo United Methodist Church Building Fund.
