BOBBIE MARIE MARSTON, 77 year-old resident of Woodward, Okla., died Aug. 15, 2005 at the Woodward Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005 at the Fifth Street Church of Christ with Ray Don Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery, under the direction of the Zwanziger Funeral Home.

Bobbie Marie Griffis was born Nov. 21, 1927 at Laverne, Okla. to Fred and Molly (Herber) Griffis. She was a 1945 graduate of Shattuck High School, Shattuck, Okla. She married John D. Marston in 1950 at Albuquerque, N.M. Bobbie worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell. When the 1947 tornado hit Woodward, and as soon as it passed over Woodward, Bobbie went back to the operators office and began calling families to see if all was alright. She retired from Southwestern Bell in 1964. Her husband John D. started John D.’s Western Wear, and Bobbie worked there until her health got to where she could not work any more. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Bobbie attended the Church of Christ. Her joy was for John D. to take her for a ride to the farm, and watch the cattle and wildlife. She also loved to be with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband John D. Marston of the home Woodward, two sons; John Justin Marston and wife Connie, Houston, Texas; Temple Marston and wife Lynne, Woodward, six grandchildren; Jonathan, and Kaylee Marston, Houston, Texas; James, Lauren, Taylor and Shelby Marston, Woodward, Okla.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
