Kinney-Stidham wedding


Elizabeth Vail Kinney and Scott Martin Stidham were united in marriage on Sept. 27, 2008 at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa. The Rev. Dr. Mouzon Biggs Jr. officiated.

Kinney is the daughter of John and Melinda Kinney of Mooreland. Grandparents are Joyce Davis and Bill and Anita Davis of Shawnee at the late Clifford and Lucille Kinney. She is a 2004 graduate of Oklahoma State University where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She was Miss Oklahoma 2004 before attending the University of Leeds, England and graduating with a master’s of political communication in 2006.

Stidham’s parents are Donal S. (Mike) and Glenna Stidham of Checotah. Grandparents are Frances Cope and the late Joe Martin Cope of Muskogee and Emmy Stidham and the late Don E. Stidham of Checotah. He is a 2000 graduate of the University of Arkansas and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He has an MBA from Texas A&M; University and is currently in his second year at Southern Methodist University’s Graduate School of Banking.

Jennica Kinney, the bride’s sister from Mooreland, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Stidham of Fayetteville, Ark.; Stacey Williams of Dallas, Texas; Erica Nilsson and Sarah Highfill Hunter, both of Oklahoma City; Julie Enlow of Sapulpa and Jackie Sperling of Broken Arrow.

The Best Man was the groom’s brother, Stewart Stidham of Fayetteville, Ark. Groomsmen were James McSpadden of Washington, D. C.; Keith Thomas of Jonesboro, Ark.; Landon Myers of Memphis, Tenn.; John Morris of Fayetteville, Ark.; O. J. Killingsworth of Bedford, Texas and Josh Helton of Dallas, Texas.

Flowergirls were Tori Kostas and Marlowe Morrison, both of Tulsa. Ringbearers were Austin Hallowell and Tyler Pittman, both of Oklahoma City.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Summit Club on the 31st floor of the Bank of America Building in downtown Tulsa.

After a honeymoon trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple is making their home in Durant. The bride is the recruitment coordinator at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and the groom is president of the First United Bank.
