Miller-Johnson wedding

Ashley Kaye Miller and Gus C. Johnson III were married Sept. 20, 2008 at 6 p.m. at the Tres Suenos Winery in Luther. Officiating the ceremony was John Presko, senior minister of the Hillsdale Christian Church of Nowata.

Miller is the daughter of Kevin and Regina Swan of Barnsdall and granddaughter of Michael and Nancy Wyckoff of Nowata and the late Jack R. Ellis.

Johnson’s parents are Garry and Evelyn Hicks of Woodward and Gus and Tammy Johnson of Fargo.

Miller wore a white halter gown made of matte duchess bridal satin with all hand-sewn seed pearls, with beaded ribbing running down the back. She carried a bouquet of deep purple calla lilies with white hydrangeas to accent. She was escorted and given away by her uncle, Brett Ellis.

Attendants were Maid of Honor Angie Waltrip, cousin of the bride and Matrons of Honor Amie Gifford and Melissa Randell, both life-long friends of the bride. The attendants all wore matching lavender, halter tea length dresses and carried three white calla lilies.

Groomsmen were Best Men Jarrod Megert, Scott Spray and Donnie Beshear, all childhood friends of the groom. They, along with the groom, wore traditional black tuxedos with silver and lavender accents, and their choice of either OU or OSU baseball cap.

After a simple traditional ceremony and reception at the vineyard, the couple honeymooned on a cruise in the Bahamas. Upon returning from the cruise, the couple continues to make their home in Guthrie.
