Shinn at 3 p.m.: This could be David King's year

NORMAN — Oklahoma typically has at least one breakout player every season. According to OU coaches and players senior defensive end David King is the one budding for stardom.

"I think he can be a very dominating player. There’s nothing he can’t do on a football field, "OU defensive coordinator Mike Stoops said.  "He just hasn’t played as much as those other two guys and this is his time. He takes it very serious and I think he has a chance to have a breakout year."

King played in all 13 games last season and had 18 tackles, including two sacks. What he brings to the table is size the Sooners have rarely enjoyed from a defensive end. King weighs 285 pounds — about 20 more than the typical edge rusher the Sooners have used.
