Warriors stay perfect

Woodward, Okla. — Anadarko stretched its winning streak to 22 games with a 35-0 victory over the Boomers Friday night.

The Warriors, ranked in the top 5 in every statewide poll in 4A, scored in all 4 quarters to pull away from the Boomers.

C. J. Sink scored 3 touchdowns to pace Anadarko, Class 3A state champions a year ago.

Anadarko improved to 4-0 in district play and appears on the way to the district title.

The Boomers dropped to 3-4 overall but they are 2-2 in district play and remain in good position to earn a playoff berth over the final 3 weeks.

Woodward’s defense didn’t give up big plays, but the Warriors were able to move the ball and score, utilizing a number of weapons.

Sophomore quarterback Brandon Pollard completed 14 of 18 passes for 113 yards a touchdown and Sink rushed for over 100 yards.

While solid on offense, the Warriors dominated on the defensive side, limiting the Boomers to only 4 first downs and 73 total yards, just 34 of those coming on the ground.

Woodward only had one scoring threat late in the game when it reached the Warrior 16 but a fumble 2 plays later ended that chance.

Anadarko took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Mykel Shaw took a short pass from Pollard, broke a tackle and went 15 yards to score.

After an exchange of punts, the Warriors put together a 69-yard, 11-play drive for a 14-0 halftime lead.

An 18-yard run by Sink on a third down play got things going and Sink finished off the drive with a 6-yard touchdown.

The Boomers had the ball to start the second half and got a first down on an 18-yard pass from Micah Kee to Ty Richey but moved backwards after that due to penalties.

Sink’s 5-yard run on Anadarko’s second possession of half made it 21-0 then Sink scored on 43-yard punt return and it was 28-0. Traymayne Wauahdooah’s 2-yard touchdown run completed the scoring.

The Boomers late threat featured an 11-yard run by Jake Hughes, 9 yard run by Dakota Taylor and 11-yard pass from Hughes to Lane Reazin.

The Boomers will host Cache next  Thursday with Senior Night activities scheduled before the game.
