Title games set in Oil Center Classic

Woodward, Okla. — Saturday's championship games in the 14th Oil Center Classic will feature rematches from last season.

Defending champion Shattuck and Mooreland will once again meet in the girls final and on the boys side Forgan will face Mooreland again. Forgan is looking for its 4th consecutive championship. Mooreland is making a third straight title appearance.

Shattuck’s girls advanced by defeating Forgan 40-35, outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 7-1 in the final 2 minutes.

Forgan had rallied to tie the game at 33-33 with 3:39 left on a bucket by Gabby Morales, but only scored one more basket the rest of the way.

Daniela Galindo led Shattuck with 13 points and Katelyn Cummings and Marissa Galindo had 9 each. Kenzi Taylor scored 18 to lead Forgan.

The Mooreland girls scored the last 8 points of the game to turn back the Beaver Lady Dusters 44-37.

Beaver trailed much of the game but took the lead at 37-36 with 3:21 remaining on a bucket by Cassie Howell. Kayla Wilson tied the game at 37-all with a free throw.

Then Kadee Kenny scored on a putback at the 1:48 mark, got a steal and scored again 13 seconds later to put Mooreland up by 4. Wilson added 3 three throws in the final minute for the 7-point margin.

Jennifer Myers led Mooreland with 19 points and Wilson scored 12. Shelby Brown had 12 for Beaver.

Forgan’s boys broke away from Shattuck in the second period and advanced with a 60-41 decision.

Jake Regier scored 22 of his game-high 25 points in the second quarter as the Bulldogs used a 15-0 run to bust open a competitive game. Kameron Hall added 13 points.

Mooreland’s boys fell behind Beaver 11-0, rallied to go up by 9, then turned away a Duster rally to post a 56-47 decision in the second semifinal.

Chris Svejkosky led Mooreland with 17, Landon Peach scored 16 and Kyler Hensley 10. Beaver got 15 points from Kalen Gabel and Jorge Rivera added 12.
