Traveler Majors add 2 more victories

Woodward, Okla. — LAWTON – The Traveler Majors got their offense going in a big way on Saturday, routing the Southwest Shockers Red 15-3 and Asher 10-1 to go 4-0 after 2 day so the Lawton Festival.

Both games ended early due to the run-rule.

Against the Shockers, the Travelers took a 6-run lead in the first inning and never looked back.

Woodward had 14 hits in the game with 10 different players hitting safely.

Leno Ramirez had 3 hits and Korey Floyd, Zach Fowler and Dalton Reed 2 each. Fowler and Reed also drove in a couple of runs as did Holden Lyons and Dakota Woods.

Kyle Stevens was the winning pitcher, allowing 3 hits over 4 innings while striking out 4.

Against Asher, Lyons added 2 his over 5 innings and received plenty of help from the Traveler offense.

Woodward scored 3 runs in the first inning and broke open a competitive contest with 6 runs in the fifth.

Fowler had 3 hits and Francisco Alvarez 2 to pace the Woodward attack.

Ramirez, Garret Collins and Matt Martin all drove in 2 runs.

Lyons finished with 7 strikeouts in 5 innings and walked one.

In four festival games so far, the Majors are averaging over 11 runs a game.

Woodward takes a 30-22 record into Sunday's bracket round.
