WHS boys improve to 4-0

Woodward, Okla. — CLINTON – Woodward's boys improved to 4-0 with a 57-46 high school basketball victory over the Tornadoes here Tuesday night.

Taylan Iliff scored 20 points and Ty Richey 17 as the Boomers turned back the Tornadoes, who fell to 0-3.

Kaleb Roach added 14 points, Garrett Owen scored 7 and Austin Ludwyck 1.

The Boomers will play Classen in the first round of the SWOSU/Weatherford High School Tournament at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will be played at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse on the Southwestern campus.

The news wasn't was good for the girls as they fell to 0-4 with a 38-33 loss to Clinton.

The Boomers cut a double-digit Clinton lead to 4 points late in the fourth period but couldn't get any closer.

Kameron Pope led Woodward with 13 points and Hillary Hurst scored 8.

Devre Newby and Shelbi Smithton had 5 points each and Lauren Garner and Drew Grunewald scored 1 points apiece.

Clinton is 1-2.

The Boomers face Blanchard at 4 p.m. on Thursday in the SWOSU/Weatherford Tournament at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse.
