Boomers now 13-1

Woodward, Okla. — ENID – The 10th-ranked Boomers swept the season series from the Enid Plainsmen with a 59-57 victory Tuesday night.

Three players scored in double figures for the Boomers, who raised their record to 13-1. Ty Richey led with 19 points, Taylan Iliff scored 13 and Garrett Owen 10.

The Boomers erased a 28-23 halftime deficit by outscoring Enid 21-8 in the third period to take a 44-36 lead.

In the girls game, the Boomers were unable to sustain their momentum from a strong performance in the Newcastle Tournament and dropped a 41-26 decision to the Pacers.

Hillary Hurst had 11 points and Jennifer Garner 6 for Woodward.

The Boomers were close at halftime, down 17-14, but Enid pulled away in the third period.

The Boomers open a 2-game homestead on Friday welcoming Clinton for homecoming.

Woodward’s boys are 1-0 against Clinton this year with the girls are 1-1.

Next Tuesday, the Boomers will host Altus. The Boomers also have home games left against Cache and Weatherford.
