Boomers earn All-Conference honors

Woodward, Okla. — Woodward was well-represented on the Western Conference All-Star team announced Wednesday by league coaches.

Corey Miller was selected coach of the year and 3 players off the 18-2 Boomer team are on the All-Conference squad - Taylan Iliff, Ty Richey and Kaleb Roach.

League champion Anadarko also has 3 selections, Mykel Shaw, Abram Johnson and Josh Parton.

Other team members include Luke Lewallen and Destry Kelly of Elk City and Devin Wilkerson of Altus.

Boomer sophomore Hillary Hurst was selected to the Girls All-Conference team.

Weatherford has 3 players on the team - Chandler Roof, Macy Stark and Rilee Torrey. Anadarko is represented by T'Andra King and Ashley Beatty.

Other selections are Gentry Holt of Elgin, Jamie Banerens and Chelsea Heidabrot of Cache and Makayla Harrison of Elk City.

Dusty Torrey of Weatherford is the coach of the year.


The Boomers closed out the regular season on Tuesday with a pair of victories at Guymon

Ten players scored for the girls as they routed the Tigers 49-24 for their 5th win of the season.

For the boys, Iliff scored 25 and Richey 21 as the Boomers won 72-58, finishing the regular season 18-2.

Woodward hosts Blackwell on Saturday for the district tournament.
