LIBERAL, Kan. - The Boomers got back on the winning track with a 7-4 baseball victory here Saturday afternoon.
Gage Owen pitched 4 innings for the win and Kyler Ferguson handled the final 3 frames as the Boomers raised their record to 2-4 and snapped a 4-game losing streak.
Owen had a big game all around for the Boomers with a pair of hits, 2 runs scored and 2 more driven in.
Francisco Alvarez had a triple among his 2 hits and Garrett Hines had a double.
Denver Howard scored twice and Lane Reazin hit safely twice.
The Boomers took a 6-0 lead before Liberal trimmed the margin to 6-4 after 5 innings.
Woodward added an insurance run in the sixth frame.
This week, the Boomers will play in the Perry Tournament, taking on the host team at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Glencoe at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Alva at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and the placement games are Saturday.
