Travelers split festival games

Woodward, Okla. — NORMAN -  The Traveler Majors split 2 games on Thursday in the OU Baseball Festival.

Woodward dropped the opener 7-6 when the Oklahoma Panthers scored 3 runs in the top of the seventh to erase a 6-4 deficit. Leno Ramirez took the loss in relief. Connor Ross homered and drove in 4 runs to pace the Traveler offense.

In the second game, Shawn Hunter scattered 3 hits and the Travelers beat the Oklahoma City Ambassadors 2-0. Woodward scored both of its runs in the sixth inning on a 2-run double by Dustin Cook.

Woodward will play Okmulgee Friday at 10 a.m. at the University of Oklahoma.

The Traveler Minors dropped their game to Okmulgee on Thursday, 6-2. The Minors play the Oklahoma Panthers Friday at 12:30 p.m. and the Oklahoma City Ambassadors at 3 p.m. Both games are at the University of Oklahoma.
