Woodward, Okla. — By Dwight Hughes
Just last week High Plains Technology Center was fortunate enough to take part in the Tri-State Oil and Gas Conference (TSOGC) held at the Woodward Convention Center. What a great event and what a great facility to house such an event! Five hundred and twenty five people showed up to take part in the trade show as well as attend one of the informative break-out sessions to listen to oil & gas industry experts.
The conference housed over 50 exhibitors both inside and out and we were able to showcase our HPTC mobile training lab. If you weren’t able to attend this year you really missed out and I would recommend you put it on your calendar for next year…August 8 & 9, 2013.
One of the highlights of the TSOGC conference was to cast a spotlight on several of the great leaders and innovators this area has had and how this part of the state has helped shape and continues to shape what the oil & gas industry is today. This conference was dedicated to the life and work of Bobby Joe Cudd and what a life it was!!
One of my favorite movies is John Wayne’s “Hell Fighters” which was written about Red Adair, but it just as easily could have been written about Bobby Joe Cudd. I thoroughly enjoyed listening as each person who knew Bobby Joe had their favorite story to tell. It was a shame this conference couldn’t of happened before Bobby Joe left this world, but as one of the speakers said…”he wouldn’t have let us do this…that was just the man he was…humble”
Committee Chairman, Jr. Long and the entire TSOGC committee did an outstanding job on the conference and I’m proud to say HPTC had several staff members who helped bring this event together.
To all the sponsors, vendors, committee members, convention center staff, CVB ambassadors, and especially Renee Cudd for all her help and guidance… I would personally like to thank each of you for your hard work and dedication to such a great event! Thanks for helping to showcase all the great things Woodward and the Tri-State region has to offer…now let’s plan to make the best even better next year…2nd Annual TSOGC 2013!!
