Woodward, Okla. — Terry Edward Nelson, son of Zenas Gerald and Venia Mae (McCance) Nelson, was born October 11, 1938 in Woodward, Oklahoma.  He passed peacefully from this life on November 15, 2012 at the age of 74.

Terry grew up in the Mutual and Woodward areas.   All of his school years were spent attending Mutual School, graduating with the Class of 1956.  

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army and achieved the rank of SP4.  During his enlistment he was awarded the Sharp Shooter Badge and the Marksman Badge.  He was honorably discharged in April, 1960.

Terry was united in marriage on April 2, 1961 to Judith Arlene Jackson.  They welcomed three beautiful daughters to the family, Sondra Kay, Julie Ann and Janice Kay.  The family made their home in Wichita, Kansas for a time before moving to Enid, Oklahoma.  

Terry worked as an Electrician most all his life.  When not working he enjoyed doing woodworking projects.  

Terry was a longtime member of the Mutual United Methodist Church.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Zenas and Venia Nelson.  He is survived by his daughters, Sondra Ramson of Alden, Minnesota, Julie Moulin of Hollister, Missouri and Janice Nelson of St. Joseph, Missouri; by sister, Janet Nelson of Woodward, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a lifetime of friends.

Memorial services were held Thursday, November 29, 2012 in the Persimmon Cemetery, Mutual, and Oklahoma.  Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Vici, Oklahoma.  Condolences may be made to the family at
